Adventures in Powell River Patricia Theatre's gardens and ghosts The

The Patricia Theatre was built by Smellie & Gallagher, and was commissioned by Bobby Scanlon (son of one of the founders of the Powell River Company) and Myron McLeod in 1928. It replaced the first Patricia Theatre built in 1913, just down the street. We have the blueprints submitted for approval in March 1928.

The Patricia Theatre in Powell River, British Columbia, was built in 1913, just three years after the town itself was born around a pulp and paper mill on the sunshine coast. One hundred years later, after one rebuilding in 1928, the theatre is still standing, having outlasted four other cinemas in town. In 2002, the Patricia was on the verge.
